Terms of Use

Last updated: July 9, 2026

These terms govern your use of Klave: IPTV Player. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

The short version

1. Who we are

Klave: IPTV Player (the "app") is developed and operated by Randel Corbin ("Klave", "we", "us") and distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form an agreement between you and us. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Klave is a player, not a content provider

This is the most important thing on this page. Klave supplies no video, no channels, no playlists, and no streams. It does not host, index, aggregate, resell, or link to any content source. It ships empty.

Klave plays media from sources you configure: an M3U playlist URL, an Xtream Codes login, a personal media server (such as Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby), or files on your own device or network. We have no relationship with, and no control over, any of those sources.

You are solely responsible for the sources you add and the content you play through Klave, including for holding whatever subscription, licence, or other right is needed to access it in your jurisdiction. Using Klave to access content you are not entitled to access is a breach of these Terms.

3. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

You may not:

4. Your account and your credentials

Klave has no Klave account. Any credentials you enter belong to a third-party service and are stored in your device Keychain — see the Privacy Policy. Keeping them secure is your responsibility.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

The app is free to download. If we offer paid features, they are sold as Apple In-App Purchases and the following applies:

6. Third-party services

Klave interoperates with services we don't control — your IPTV provider, Apple iCloud, TMDB, OMDb, Trakt, Chromecast, YouTube, and the public sports data feeds behind the sports screens. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, not ours. We do not warrant their availability, accuracy, legality, or continuity, and any of them may change or disappear without notice, taking a Klave feature with it.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Klave to:

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Klave metadata service if you do.

8. Availability, and changes to the app

The Klave metadata service is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime commitment. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may discontinue the app or the service entirely. Core local playback of your own sources does not depend on our service.

9. Open-source components

Klave includes third-party open-source software, notably libVLC and a minimal build of FFmpeg, both used under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later. Those components are governed by their own licences, which take precedence over these Terms to the extent of any conflict — including your right to reverse engineer for the purposes those licences permit. Full attribution is listed in the app under Settings → Acknowledgements. FFmpeg source is available from ffmpeg.org; write to us for the object files needed to relink our build.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any stream will play, or that any metadata will be accurate.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $50.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, or expense arising from content you access through Klave, from the sources you configure, or from your breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. They terminate automatically if you breach them. You may terminate at any time by deleting the app. Sections 2, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept it.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your place of residence.
